Regarding the incident, ACP Tandon said, "A conscious citizen got a call at the control room at 9 am and there we got information about this young man. Preliminary investigation has revealed that he is a native of Porbandar and a letter was also found from his gajwa on the basis of which his wife has been contacted. Information about the young man's murder or his fall will be available only after the postmortem. The body has now been moved for postmortem.

According to the information received, Mukesh had a drinking spree with his wife Sonal and sister Bharti in the evening.
